Anyone own a slim PS2?

I've recently been having a problem with mine. I was having cravings to play Metal Gear Solid again, and when I poped the disc into the drive it kept giving me disc read error. I tried several other ps1 games and they too did not work. I do know it worked previously though as I replayed FFVII for a while after Advent Children came out, but recently it just wont read the discs. I've tried using a lense cleaner, as well as a few other things, and still no success. I was just wondering if anyone else has had this problem?

i can remember my ps1 doing similar things........lens clearer doesnt always work.......you need a monkey who knows how to take it apart and fix it. theres really nothing to it as long as you know what not to do. than you should be able to clean the funk right out.
